BIRRELL STREET

BONDI, 2022

Our client came to us seeking a complete restructure of her existing outdoor area. We assessed the client’s needs and designed a more permanent and structural area; that’s both pet friendly and perfect for outdoor entertainment. A low maintenance coastal, evergreen planting theme paired with the structural elements, softens the area, and adds vibrancy.

Existing paths and soil were demolished and excavated to make way for a large paving platform as the focal point of the area, complemented by an outdoor setting. A split drain and various Drainage pits were also installed to promote topical and sub soil drainage to ensure longevity of the project especially during high rainfall periods.

A large Tuckeroo tree planted amongst the pavers against neighbouring wall to both provide shade and act as privacy screen from neighbouring residents. Mondo’s Planted between the split drain and paved area to both soften and add Greenery to the area. Mother in laws tongues used to provide a textural element against walls complimented with a native violet ground cover in all bare areas. A fully self sufficient herb and vegetable garden bed was installed for year round fresh produce

The whole garden finished with an underground pop up irrigation system to ensure plant health and growth into the hotter months ahead. A new pot plant configuration implemented at the front entrance of the property to liven the area. Again coinciding with the low maintenance evergreen theme, a giant birds of paradise with Dichondra and euphoria cowboy cactus with string of pearls.

Overall, the client is happy with the practicality and aesthetic appeal of the refurbishment, in particular the quality of the work in such a short time.

Thank you to @PWD_plumbing for his assistance in the job.
